A tree survey is a survey of all the trees on or adjacent to the site, which me be affected by the proposed development. It will look at the SULE (Safe Useful Life Expectancy) and based on this each tree will be given a retention value. This information can be used as a guide during the development stage to establish where the proposed develop should be positioned based on the retention values of the trees.
Carrying out a tree survey before the design stage and utilising this information will ensure that better informed decisions can be made as to the design and the trees located on the site. Doing the survey early on and using this information in your planning will reduce the chances of the council rejecting the plans on tree related matters.
